I'd go one of two ways. You could stay the course and continue with the pen and ink for the background. DARK Darks/washes of mysterious clouds. OR... you could cut out your foreground figures and adhere them onto a collaged background of newspaper/wrapping paper or some other thing that you might come up with. Don't be afraid to slice and dice!!
