I'm liking the black and white one quite a bit. The energy in the line quality is really exciting to see. Nice value structure as well! The colored piece is coming along, it's just a bit more clunky. I used to think when I was in HS that I needed to show painting in my art college admission portfolio. Not true I found. Just do what you're good at and include that. I would encourage you to continue to experiment and explore new mediums, but don't feel like they all have to be successful. I think it might be neat to somehow merge these two images together somehow. Coloring from the top imposed on the bottom?
